Summer legislation programme

Published by Government Chief Whip Mary Butler TD in mid-April 2026, the Summer 2026 Legislation Programme contains 38 bills for prioritisation by government ministers.

The legislation programme contains the following:

• legislation for priority publication this session 2026 (38);
• legislation for priority drafting this session 2026 (26);
• all other legislation (73);
• bills currently on the Dáil and Seanad Order Paper (25);
• bills which were published since government came to office (39 as of 10 April 2026); and
• bills which were enacted since government came to office on (29 as of 10 April 2026).

Upon publication of the programme, Butler said: “This Summer Legislation Programme reflects a series of proposed laws that will continue to improve housing supply, strengthen public safety, protect public health, support people with disabilities, and ensure fairness in our economy.”
