Driving sustainability

Delivering safe, reliable water and wastewater services has never been more important.

As organisations such as Uisce Éireann continue to advance ambitious sustainability goals, the focus is expanding beyond treatment performance. It now includes reducing carbon emissions, strengthening supply chain resilience, and improving visibility of Scope 3 impacts. Increasingly, success is measured not only by operational outcomes, but by how those outcomes are achieved.

Supporting these ambitions requires more than reliable chemical supply. It requires partners who understand the wider operational picture and can deliver practical improvements across treatment processes and supply chains.

At Chemifloc, a CSG company, sustainability is embedded in how we operate and support our customers. Alongside manufacturing and distributing high quality water treatment chemicals, we continue to invest in practical initiatives that reduce environmental impact while maintaining the reliability, technical expertise, and service standards our customers depend upon.
One area where this is making a measurable difference is in the visibility of transport emissions. CSG’s proprietary carbon calculator quantifies the transport-related carbon emissions associated with every delivery, with this information displayed directly on each paperless proof of delivery. By providing customers with verified delivery and CO2 emissions data, we support ESG and Scope 3 reporting while improving transparency and reducing administration.

Our approach also focuses on reducing emissions at source. We are investing in vehicles operating on 100 per cent hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), while also improving route planning and developing strategic customer chemical storage solutions. These measures help reduce unnecessary journeys, improve delivery efficiency, and strengthen supply resilience. Together, they support customers in lowering the carbon impact of their chemical supply chains.

Sustainability extends beyond logistics. Chemifloc’s scientists and technical specialists work closely with customers through laboratory analysis, jar testing, process optimisation, and on-site support. This helps maximise treatment performance, improve chemical efficiency, and reduce unnecessary resource consumption.

With the support of a dedicated customer service team, we aim to operate as an extension of our customers’ teams, providing responsive support and practical expertise as requirements evolve.

Kevin Quinn, CEO of CSG, explains: “Creating a more sustainable water sector requires collaboration. By combining technical expertise with practical innovation, we can help our customers reduce environmental impact while maintaining the resilience and reliability that essential water services demand.”

Chemifloc remains committed to working alongside the water sector to deliver practical solutions that support a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable future.
