Leaders@Google & Executive Portraits John Herlihy & Ronan Harris Ronan Harris has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Google Ireland. Harris (pictured) will replace John Herlihy who is standing down at the end of April.

A native of Limerick, Herlihy has led Google’s Dublin-based Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations for over 10 years and oversaw the growth of the company’s Irish workforce from an initial 50 people to 2,500 employees.

Speaking on his replacement, Herlihy stated: “I am delighted that Ronan Harris will now lead Google’s EMEA operations in its next phase of growth.” Paying tribute to his predecessor, Harris commented: “I have worked closely with John for many years and all of us at Google in Dublin value greatly the contribution he has made to Google and to Ireland’s reputation as the digital capital of Europe.”
