Seminars
In its first year, the forum will convene around four seminars. The inaugural session will focus on the following four themes:
- Innovation in delivering public services; (Now over)
- Cloud computing;
- Data management and security;
- Developing technology for healthcare.
There will also be an innovation in public services awards event, which will highlight best practice in Northern Ireland.
Cloud Computing seminar

Cloud Computing has the ability to revolutionise the way in which organisations do business – helping improve performance, drive IT efficiencies and achieve cost savings. The seminar will examine:
- New and emerging technologies;
- Using the cloud for real applications;
- Achieving cost savings through cloud computing;
- The legal implications of the cloud;
- Case studies: cloud computing in practice.

Data breaches around the globe have made big headlines in the last couple of years. This seminar will look at best practice in this important area and will include:
- Good practice guide;
- Balancing data sharing and data protection;
- Compliance in an electronic information age;
- Reducing legal and reputational risk;
- Accelerating culture change.
ICT in Healthcare

The convergence of biology and engineering is turning health care into an information industry. Topics covered in the seminar will include:
- IT-driven innovations in health care;
- The role of telehealth in managing chronic illness;
- Mobile medicine - improving community based health;
- Investing in health ICT infrastructure;
- Patient involvement in healthcare.
